Belts and Stripes – Corona vs Jiu-Jitsu

If you have someone to practice within this quarantine, well then you should feel blessed, because a lot of your colleagues don’t have that luck.

I can’t even put into words, the eagerness that I feel to step onto the tatami and train positions and roll with my friends and colleagues of the academy.

Sadly for me, I don’t have anyone. I’ve been doing simple exercises to just keep up the shape… Which in the long run won’t keep it but it’s better than nothing. Throughout these days I’ve watched people post some exercises related to Jiu-Jitsu, like triangles, using your Gi to perform lace guard, standing up and down mixed with rear or front rolls, etc. I guess I’ll add some of these to my training routine for some diversity, and at least I will keep my muscle memory alive right?

To my fellow practitioners of the Soft Art, maintain your body, but more importantly, maintain your mind. When this is over, you’ll be prepared to enter the jungle again and be assured that it will be even more savage than before.
