A Lifeguard’s Saga – Ep.17 – It Was One Hell Of A Summer!

Last year by around these days, if someone had told me that I’d have bonded with other Lifeguards and Marines next year, I’d probably tell them to fuck off and leave me alone. And that would be polite by my part with all things considered.

Today, a day after the season had ended, I can only be grateful for all the wonderful people I had the pleasure of working with and also the other people at the bars and so on. The Summer of 2017 was a blast! I’ve met and fraternized with other Lifeguards but also other Marines who patrolled the beaches of Vila do Conde and Póvoa de Varzim and these guys and girls were absolutely fantastic!

There was some unusual stuff, as with the problem I had with a dog and the cows that ran wild through the beaches. And some other common stuff with reckless people, some careless colleagues and so on…

But the bonds we’ve made with one another were something out of anything that I had ever experienced before while colleagues of the job. It saddens me greatly that the season is over now.

Now on the eve for a long-awaited and I believe deserved holidays, I can only thank everyone that crossed my path while I was on the job, for better or for worse, you contributed with a small part for what I am today! Thank you so much for passing by to talk with me! Colleagues, authorities, employees, and employers thank you for your time! It certainly turned my day less gray than it would have to be!

This is it for the Lifeguard’s Saga this year. I wish you guys all the best and I also thank you for following my stories this Summer.

PS: I know there are some photos that were not taken, some people do not appear, but you’re definitely not forgotten at all! I love you all the same!
